The Abasiita Clan has officially registered at the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom (BKK) office. A delegation, led by Vice Chairperson Fred Byenkya, met with Owek. Robert Rukahemura, BKK Social Affairs and Cultural Officer, to formalize their registration.
Representing the clan’s leadership, Byenkya, along with Senior Elder Rev. Kitalibira John, praised the Kingdom for empowering clans through various initiatives. They pledged their support for the Kingdom’s development programs.
Owek. Rukahemura commended the clan for embracing the registration exercise, which aims to streamline and strengthen the kingdom’s clans. He urged unregistered clans to participate in the process, noting that only registered clans will compete in the upcoming BKK-MTN Engada tournament.
To register, clans must submit a constitution, executive committee details, clan cluster leader contacts, and pay a Shs 100,000 fee.
