MTN Uganda has appointed Dennis Abigaba Kakonge as the General Manager for Corporate Services and Company Secretary at MTN Mobile Money Uganda, effective December 1, 2024, pending approval from the Bank of Uganda.
Kakonge brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as Senior Manager for Legal and Regulatory Affairs at MTN Uganda. He also held the role of Company Secretary for MTN affiliates, including MTN Publicom and MTN Village Phone.
Before rejoining MTN Uganda, Kakonge was the Company Secretary and Legal/Regulatory Director at Airtel Uganda, where he managed its subsidiaries and affiliates. He also chaired the board of trustees for the Airtel Uganda staff provident fund, further demonstrating his leadership in the telecom sector.
