In politics, Dr. Nabwiso represented Kagoma County in Parliament from 2001 to 2006 under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, advocating for democratic values and rural development. He was defeated in 2006 by Fredrick Nkayi in a competitive election.
In 2021, Dr. Nabwiso contested the Jinja City mayoral seat as the FDC candidate but was defeated by Peter Kasolo Okocha of the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Within FDC, Dr. Nabwiso was a respected figure, serving on the party’s special Elders’ Council. He played a key role in clearing party leaders Nathan Nandala Mafabi and Patrick Amuriat of bribery allegations in 2021.
