In a gesture of camaraderie, South Sudan’s Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Gen Santino Deng Wol, was hosted by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, for a dinner at Serena Kigo. The event celebrated the strengthening ties between the two nations.
The gathering included notable Ugandan officials such as Inspector General of Police Abbas Byakagaba, Commissioner General of Prisons Johnson Byabashaija, and the heads of ESO and ISO. High-ranking military officers from both sides were also in attendance.

Gen Santino praised the enduring connection between South Sudan and Uganda, emphasizing that “we are one people.” He expressed gratitude for the hospitality and the warm reception during his visit.
Gen Kainerugaba echoed these sentiments, promising that the two militaries would foster even closer cooperation, aimed at enhancing security and relations in the region. Earlier that day, both leaders held discussions on regional security issues at the Defence Intelligence and Security Headquarters.
