During the second session of the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, Mulimba celebrated the enduring brotherhood between the two nations, rooted in a shared commitment to peace, stability, and regional development. He acknowledged the pivotal role of both nations’ heads of state in establishing the JPC in 1987 and its revival in 2018 through the Framework Agreement.
This session aims to enhance collaboration in vital sectors, including defense and security, tourism, agriculture, ICT, trade, and infrastructure development. “Both Uganda and Mozambique have faced challenges from insecurity and terrorism, and we are dedicated to addressing these threats through reinforced defense and security cooperation,” Mulimba stated. He also highlighted a focus on boosting trade, enhancing food security, and advancing technology transfers.
Mulimba underscored that the JPC exemplifies how bilateral cooperation can facilitate regional integration and foster mutual prosperity.
